HELP Opportunities

Hands Extended Loving People (HELP) is a faith-based, non-profit service ministry located in Mason County, Michigan. (If you use the back of your left hand as a map of Michigan, Mason County is the main knuckle of your pinky finger.) Assistance has also been provided to families in Manistee County to the north, Lake County to the east, and Oceana County to the south.

Opportunities to help HELP are many and varied. Specific needs of the ministry include:
  • Prayers for wisdom in dealing with people and situations that take us out of our "comfort zone" sometimes.
  • Prayers that God will provide the resources and people necessary to meet those needs.
  • Corporate Gift-In-Kind or private tax-deductible donations of goods. We have received used but serviceable appliances, automobiles, furniture, bedding, etc: Most have found a home shortly after receipt. Needs are varied, so donations are not refused unless they are beyond repair.
  • Financial contributions (also tax-deductible). All the people involved in HELP are volunteers. As the ministry grows, it is anticipated that a paid director will be needed eventually. For now, all contributions go directly into meeting needs or office supplies.

We can accept payments online through PayPal by clicking this button:

  • Volunteers: Those who live in the Mason County, Michigan area who wish to volunteer their time and talents in meeting needs, can contact HELP (see Contact HELP page). HELP is a non-denominational Christian organization. Board members and volunteers presently come form about six area churches. The more volunteers we have, the more needs we can commit to meeting.
  • Office and storage space: The ministry is presently operated out of the home of HELP President, Gene McClellan. Donated items are stored in a rented pole building, and a garage provided free of charge. As items come and go, space gets limited. In the very near future, suitable space will be needed to better sort and store goods, and an office will be needed. Any leads on a LOW rent facility (or a donated facility)? We'd love to hear from you.
